Logs¶

Servala gives you access to the logs of your service instances, so you can inspect what a service is doing and troubleshoot issues.

Logs are available on the instance detail page in the portal, where you can view and download them. For step-by-step instructions, see the How-To guide View Logs.

What logs are available¶

The portal shows the logs of the Pods that currently run your service instance. This is the same output you would get with kubectl logs: everything the service writes to standard output and standard error.

This works the same way for all services.

Retention¶

Servala does not store logs. There is no long-term log storage and no log archive.

This means:

• You only see logs of Pods that are running right now.
• When a Pod is restarted or replaced (for example during maintenance, a compute plan change, or after a crash), the logs of the old Pod are gone.
• Kubernetes rotates the logs of long-running Pods. Very old output of a Pod that runs for a long time may no longer be available.

If you need to keep logs, download them from the portal regularly.
