Find the cause of the growth

Common reasons for fast growth on a Codey instance:

  • A new or imported repository with a large history or many large files. The code search index grows with the code, so it also needs more space.
  • A new mirror of a large project. Codey updates mirrors regularly, so the mirror and its index keep growing with the upstream project.
  • A CI workflow that uploads large Actions artifacts or packages on every run.
  • Container images pushed to the package registry on every build.

Some space is only free after the nightly cleanup job of Codey has run, for example after you delete packages or artifacts. See Free up storage.

Then remove the data you do not need. See Free up storage.
