PersistentVolumeFillingUp¶
| Severity | critical |
| Fires when | Less than 3% storage is free, for 15 minutes |
What it means¶
Less than 3% of the storage is free, and this has lasted for 15 minutes. This is urgent.
What happens if you do nothing¶
When the volume is full, the service can stop accepting writes, or it can fail to start. Act now.
What to do¶
- Increase the storage size first. See Increase the storage size. Do this before you clean up: some cleanup tasks need free space to run.
- Check the storage usage. Open the Technical Details on the instance detail page. The Usage column in the Persistent Volumes table shows how much space is used. See Monitor an Instance.
- Find out why the data grew. Is the growth expected (for example a data import or a migration), or is it a surprise (for example a table or a log that grows without limit)?
- Remove data you do not need. See the steps for your service below.
When enough space is free again, the alert goes away. Click the refresh button in the Alerts card to see the current state.
