Trial Period

Some Servala organizations run on a trial period: they are fully usable for a limited time, after which they expire and, if not extended, are eventually removed. This page explains what to expect if your organization is on a trial.

Whether your organization has a trial, and how long it lasts, depends on how it was created (for example through a specific signup path or a voucher). If your organization has no trial, none of the limits below apply and it does not expire.

The three phases

Active

While your organization is active, everything works normally: you can provision, configure, scale, and delete services within the limits of your organization.

The portal shows a banner with the date your organization is valid until, so you always know how much time is left. As the expiration date approaches, everyone in the organization also receives reminder emails (typically 7 days and 3 days before, and on the day itself).

Expired

On the expiration date, your organization becomes read-only:

  • Creating or modifying resources is disabled. You can still sign in and view everything.
  • Your running service instances are paused (scaled down). Your data is retained during this period, it is not deleted yet.

A banner explains that the organization has expired and links to the support form so you can ask to have it extended and your services resumed.

Deleted

If the organization is not extended, it enters a grace period after expiration. When that grace period ends, the organization and all of its resources are permanently deleted: every service instance and all of its data. This cannot be undone. You receive a final reminder one day before deletion, and a confirmation email once it has happened.

Not every trial has automatic deletion. If yours does, the reminder emails and the in-portal banner tell you the exact deletion date.

Keeping your organization

If you want to keep using Servala beyond the trial:

  1. Open your organization in the portal.
  2. Use the Contact us to extend button in the expiration banner, or the support page, to reach out to us before the deletion date.

Extending a trial resumes any paused services and gives you a new validity period. It is always safe to ask: extending never deletes anything.

Act before the deletion date

During the expired (read-only) phase your data is still there and can be restored by extending. Once the grace period ends and the organization is deleted, the data is gone. If in doubt, contact us early.

Limits during a trial

A trial may also cap what you can create, for example the number of service instances, or which services and plans are available. If you hit such a limit, the portal tells you. To lift a limit, contact us through the support page.
