CNPGClusterLowDiskSpaceCritical¶
| Severity | critical |
| Fires when | More than 90% of a database volume is used, for 5 minutes |
What it means¶
More than 90% of the storage of a database volume is used. The alert watches the data volume of each database instance, and the volumes for write-ahead log (WAL) files and tablespaces if the instance has them.
What happens if you do nothing¶
When the volume is full, PostgreSQL stops. The database then does not accept any connections until there is free space again. Act soon.
What to do¶
- Increase the storage size. See Increase the storage size. Do this before you clean up: some cleanup tasks need free space to run.
- Check the storage usage. Open the Technical Details on the instance detail page. The Usage column in the Persistent Volumes table shows how much space is used. See Monitor an Instance.
- Find out what uses the space, and remove the data you do not need. See Free up storage.
